FALL BASEBALL
The Fall season practices begin the week of September 9 and the season will end November 2. Teams will play 1-2 games a week and one on Saturday. BAA plays in the fall with Laurel and Greenbelt baseball leagues to provide more teams and competition. Practices will be at the coaches discretion. Most coaches hold one weekly practice in addition to the scheduled games. Instructional teams will have games on one weeknight and on Saturdays.
BASEBALL
DESCRIPTIONS OF EACH AGE LEVEL ARE BELOW:

Instructional League - Co-Ed, Ages 4-6
Coaches
introduce players to baseball fundamentals, including proper throwing
mechanics, hitting fundamentals, basic fielding skills, the names and
locations of field positions, and base running. We emphasize having fun
together as a team, learning positive sportsmanship, and developing
players’ confidence in their athletic abilities. This is a coach
pitch league, however, if the batter does not hit after five good
pitches, a
tee is set up. There are no strikeouts. We do not keep
score in the instructional league.
Rookie League Baseball - Co-Ed, Ages 6-8
Coaches develop and reinforce the major baseball fundamentals, and
begin teaching team plays. Fundamental include: proper throwing
mechanics, batting stance and hitting fundamentals, fielding skills,
above-the-waist catching, and base running. We emphasize having fun
together as a team, learning positive sportsmanship, and developing
players’ confidence in their athletic abilities.This is a machine pitch league with 60 ft. base
path. Scores and standings are kept.
Pee Wee League Baseball - Co-Ed, Ages 9-12
This is a player pitch league with 60 ft. base
path. Scores and standings are kept.
Proper pitching mechanics are introduced and developed in players who wish to pitch
.
Pony League Baseball - Co-Ed, Ages 11-14
The Pony Division is for Ages 11-14 at the field dimensions of 50/70 and helps the kids prepare to
move up to a full size field when they start High School baseball.
(11 and 12 year old players may play at either age division (Peewee or Pony). Players who need more development or don't feel comfortable moving up may stay in Peewee and more skilled players should play up in the Pony division)
